Interactive 461

Spacious, well balanced, finely detailed, bespoke, light filled and technologically advanced, Interactive’s new corporate headquarters liberates the notion of a typical office with further exploration of collaborative work spaces, spatial experiences and facilities, to establish a well-crafted environment that communicates that the company values it’s employees and the client experience.

Interactive P/L, is Australia’s largest privately owned multi service IT provider. Their services include hosted data storage facilities, IT hardware maintenance, Cloud and Managed IT services.

We have collaborated with Interactive since 2004. This project is a shared accolade to the strength of this partnership. It has taken experience, good process, ongoing rapport, technical insight and trust to achieve this result.  The client is a strong supporter of the belief that a great working environment delivers better results.

The client brief was quite specific, “create a dynamic, state of the art facility, with a technological WOW factor, the staff and customer experience at every touch point should reinforce this perception”. The office accommodation to convey a warm, residential feel for staff that often work travelling, remote of the main office. Based on the brief, the concept of a city apartment environment with a residential based, textured materiality was introduced.

The project provided the opportunity to incorporate the best technical and AV infrastructure while posing the challenge of seamlessly integrating technical services, on site power generation and data storage facilities. The entire team collaborated extensively to resolve the challenges posed.

The Interactive project successfully merges 3 complex technology infrastructure areas into a seamless whole with a high calibre bespoke narrative.

The MD requested a custom slide linking 2 levels to signify the dynamic office culture and “a metaphor for using the forces around you to your advantage”.

An innovative aspect of the project is the extent to which the design concept adheres to the brief and when applied to the project liberates the typical office environment to create a light filled work place. A distinct residential feel combined with technological innovation is evident throughout.

Bespoke accommodation, technologically advanced auditorium and presentation facilities have been provided throughout the work place with no formal demarcation between staff and client areas. Workspaces to inspire diverse opportunities for meaningful and creative exchange between people are provided on all levels of the Building.

Interactive was awarded a Design commendation at the 2015 Australian Interior Design awards for Workplace design.
