Park Regis Sydney

The design brief from the Hospitality client for this project was very clear. Re-design the existing guest rooms at the Park Regis Hotel Sydney CBD to retain and attract new corporate clientele to the existing hotel suites by providing a more boutique offering. The client operates several hotels in the Asia-Pacific region and was keen to introduce concepts and finishes from their more up-market properties.

We approached the hotel upgrade with 2 key aims. Firstly we modified the plan where possible and introduced an open, casual room. Unusually for a hotel room, the suites were split into 2 distinct areas with a central amenity area. The challenge was working within the existing structure and layout of the rooms to minimise disruption on other guest floors.

Successful reconfiguration of the plan allowed us to introduce feature screening, create a writing desk area, new mini bar and additional storage.

We then introduced a more sophisticated finishes palate that included extensive use of mirrors and rich timbers, soft furnishings and accessories. The renovation budget per room is a critical factor for hospitality clients so the project required careful and deft consideration of the use of funds to achieve a successful outcome. The clients' expectation in terms of the finished product was exceeded and the room rate has increased significantly by attracting the corporate traveler.
